Debenhams goes Scandi....

I was really excited to be asked to review Debenham's new Brand Mrkt collection. Described by themselves- "Looking for the coolest new pieces at high street prices? Our Brand Mrkt range features five of the hottest brands that offer fun and fashionable clothing for the modern woman."

The brands are inspired by 'Scandi' style. Known for minimalism, clean shapes and contemporary silhouette. The collection is made up of 5 individual brands;

* Vero Moda- a street style, fashion led brand that offers affordable pieces.

* Vila Clothes- simplicity, femininity for women who don't believe in being overdressed.

*Moves- colourful, bold, hash-tag worthy Danish label

* Noisy May- denim junkies paradise! Jeans to suit every body type

* Simple Stories- timeless, clean lines and minimal designs. Noisy May's sister brand.

I have to say one of the main reasons I was excited was the fact that Debenhams were bringing something new to the High St. I'm not gonna lie, for a while now, I've felt Debenhams have been lacking. Not just due to the fact their stores need a major modernising aesthetically, but the collections they have offered felt dated, just not forward thinking. So I was amazed to find that The Brand Mrkt Collection is fresh, on-trend and appealing to the younger end of the market .

I'm loving the spring trend colours- greens, lavender, pink, mint, red and blue. Happy to say all are present in each collection. As well as the fact the pieces are bang on-trend with features such as oversizing, ruffles and textured fabrics. Speaking of fabrics those used are of good quality, Noisy May's denim is super soft! This makes the pieces feel fabulous to wear- fashionable and comfy!

The average price point is £31 and the collections range in size from 8-18. That said some of the Noisy May brand, which is sized S, M, L, XL, is 'oversized' meaning that the pieces come up big. I usually wear an 18 and could easily fit into an 'M'! I did find the trousers (in all collections) came up small- so maybe be prepared to size up.

The Simple Stories Collection was full of casual everyday wear such as this oversized, cold shoulder shirt with side splits and a zip front. This would look great with skinnys and kicks or bare legs & wedges once the weather heats up!

I love the 'casual-ness' (yes that's a word!) of this outfit. It looks so comfy to wear!

Perfect for lazy lunches.... Ideal outfit for the plane journey to warmer climes! #dreaminofsummer

My absolute fave outfit of the entire collection was this. I love this look- very Scandi, with the ruffles and crisp cotton. The skirt is an A-line midi, perfect for all you pear, hour glass and invert triangles. The shirt is a tricky one to wear, due to the high neck and ruffle top. But the sheer fabric makes it less bulky and more flowing. Ideal for rectangle and pear shapes. I'm loving green at the mo- it's a spring thing!

It's definitely worth checking out these new additions, I think you will love them, and it is a great step in the right direction for Debenhams.

If you're popping into Basingstoke branch and need a hand putting an outfit together (ask me first obvs!!) ask for Sarah- Women's wear Sales Manager. She is an absolute doll, so knowledgeable, very friendly and will help you- tell her I sent you!
